Business requirement
QOL Labs contacted Carmatec for the revamp project of their existing website. The scope of the project also comprised of the implementation of a retail front end to the website. The client required the website to have a contemporary look and feel along with being fully responsive, SEO friendly, highly interactive and user-friendly with an intuitive navigation that would give them an edge over the competition. In addition to this, the project also required to develop a mobile application for the admin user and all the other users.
Proposed Solution
The proposed solution encompassed a revamp of their current website along with CMS enablement for the required pages along with a custom Rails based back-end development for their ecommerce portal.
Carmatec proposed to roll this project out in two phases wherein the phase-1 comprised of the revamp of the current website, making it more interactive, search engine optimized, user-friendly & responsive. This phase also comprised of implementation of the ecommerce abilities for QOL Labs to sell products online. Their products were now presented on the website in a neat and beautiful manner so as to be accessible to the patients and practitioners/ clinics & bought online. The website had an inventory management system for the admin to be able to add or update the products. In addition, the CMS system would allow the admin to post health tips or any informational content on the website for the website visitors to view, like and post on the blogs. The website would have 3 users including the admin user, practitioners/patients and the guest users. While the admin users can monitor the website, assign roles and ensure smooth functioning of the system, the practitioner or patient users would not have any permissions at this stage.
In the phase-2 of the website development, implementation of multi-store systems was performed for the practitioners or clinics. Herein the customer portals with ERP integration at the back end was taken up. Now, the practitioners were enabled to start selling their products on the website and allow their patients to get registered. The ERP integration allowed the admin user to store their patients’ details and hospital management system in a simple manner. Similarly, the clinics or practitioners would have a database to update their patients’ details in the system.
The mobile application for the admin user and all other users was also developed in the second phase. The application was built with user-friendliness and future scalability in mind. So, it made it possible to integrate new features considering the subsequent phases of the future development in a seamless manner.
